Happy birthday Doria

I want to wish my Loving Daughter, Doria a Blessed and Happy Birthday. Doria is my only child, and she's always been a great daughter. She's a mother of four, a wife and foremost a Sailor. She's been active for Thirteen years. Her birthday is on Friday the 13, of March. When she was 13 years old, it also was on a Friday the 13. This day for me has been the luckiest day in my life. When I had her, I knew that she would be the most precious gift that God could ever send me. Everyday and thank him for her. I just went to Virginia, and spent five delightful days with her and my grandchildren. Even though, two out of four were sick. I still loved every minute that I spent at her home. I made her a silhouette of her first born, as a card. I also made it into a picture for framing. I took so pictures of the girls, so that I can convert them into silhouettes also, this way she can place them all on a wall by ages. I think that she would like that very much. The silhouette came out beautiful, I didn't expect it to look so nice. I hope that she has a blessed birthday day. For I will miss being with her and that day.

My little Spanish Leprechauns!!

These are the cards that I created for my grand kids, and my loving son in law. My grand children are Puerto-rican / Irish. I always trying to teach them about both their heritage, which has been also a learning experience for myself.

The Long Shot

I like to introduce you to one of my other Grandson. Colby, who is quite a character, if I am say so. He loves playing sports, Baseball, basketball and football. I guess he's what you call an all American. He's still young, so we don't know as of yet, what sports he'll stick to the most. I wanted to share he's basketball abilities, which he's doing very good in. He's made us all proud, specially, he's Grandfather and mother. LOL

Kilroy was here!!

I found this Kilroy dings and it reminded me, when I was a litte girl, how I would see these icon, painted, scratched or penciled everywhere. Then, later in life, as I got older I found out that there were a stories about Kilroy was here!

I decided to make a Kilroy Birthday card for my brother in law for the laugh, As I posted the card, I got curious about finding out, the real reason for the Kilroy legend, so I googled. Yes, I googled, and this is the results. Please take a minute to check it out. I got a very interesting result. The legend was endless....LOL

In 1873, the first float was constructed entirely in New Orleans instead of France. In 1875, the Govenor of Louisiana signs the “Mardi Gras Act” making it a legal holiday in Louisiana, which is still is.
Mardi Gras is very year on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, which Ash Wednesday is 40 days for Easter (not including Sundays) . Carnival celebration starts on January 6, on the feast of the Epiphany. It picks up speed until the Midnight on Mardi Gras, the day before Ash Wednesday. This year it falls on February 24.
